have you ever considered just how special your roleplay character is?
they have their own little lives that you take care of, they earn friends, enemies, lovers and haters, just like real life people.
they start their own little world and get attached to others, gain habits and attributes, likes and dislikes.
they each have their own little stories with secrets and things they'll never forget.
perhaps even start their own families and have their own happy ending.

but they all depend on that one person behind the screen.
the one who allows them to keep their stories going.
who are in charge of their life and allow them to live in general.
who they know could kill them at any moment or just abandon them without warning, stopping their story.
they can laugh and cry; and sometimes that person behind the glass will laugh and cry with them.
the power they can hold over these people with their ongoing little lives can be so strong that they take over that person's life.
even if the character you roleplay is a canon character - they can develop in such a way that they step out of that initial mould: become their own identity with their own path, so you don't even recognise them from their canon counterpart anymore.
and they rely on you to keep them in touch with the ones they grow to love - their family, their friends.
and you go through every step of their life with them.
even if you cut it short.

they are your baby whether you like it or not.
you can build them up or beat them down.
they make mistakes and the best decisions of their tiny lives.
you remember their memories with them.
and you are there through it.
you are with them through everything.

look after your baby.
they need you to keep them alive.
and how, when and if their story ends is in your hands.
